Umbrian Train to Perugia

Two weeks ago we decided to take the train from our local station Trestina to Perugia to sample the delights of local transport.
We were not disappointed! Apart from the cost - Euro30 return for five of us, the little train was a delight. Although from the outside it looks a little battle weary, full of colouful grafitti and only two coaches, it was clean, comfortable and most of all great fun. As we passed through Niccone, Umbertide, Pierantonio etc. it let out a little Thomas the Tank Engine whoop which delighted my three year old grand daughter no end, not to mention my husband! As we began our ascent to Perugia Santa Ana station, the steep climb seemed that it would be too much for the little engine but it masterfully achieved its aim. I would recommend the ride from Sansepolcro to Perugia to anyone. If you would like more details please contact us via our website www.italiapropertymanagement.com.

Hi Christine,

We arrive in Trestina next Sautrday and booked out a villa in Badia Petroia for a week and have an artist among our group who would like to paint rustic countryside scenes. We are 4 couples from Pasadena and Sierra Madre located in Southern California and would like to host you and your husband sometime during our stay. We enjoyed reading your blog about the train ride "The Little Engine That Could" very much since it describes how true that is for us in our 40-50s. Our dream was to travel together and it came true this summer. Maybe off beat, but we are trying to rent a piano for the week and have no luck. Any ideas since 6 in our group love playing. email tbrady@dgrp.com 626-3553471
